International Conference – HeForShe: Navigating Masculinities, Advancing Gender Equality
Hosted with and at the Embassy of Iceland, this year’s international conference will spotlight men who have themselves navigated uncertainty: practitioners working on cultural changes, leaders and institutions committing to measurable changes and of course HeForShe, UN Women’s global movement addressing and reaching out to men and boys.
We will address gender equality for what it is: a whole society issue and task – not merely a women’s rights issue. Masculinities are not fixed – they are shaped by communities, media, institutions, and culture. If we want healthier, more inclusive societies, we need both positive role models and structural change to overcome deeply rooted gender norms. By bringing together politicians, diplomats, researchers, academia, practitioners, activists and community leaders, the event will create a space for sharing insights and analysis, exchange of practices, and strategic dialogue – to provide ideas for concrete actions on how to mobilize and actively engage more men on gender equality issues.
We warmly invite you to join us at our international conference “HeForShe: Navigating Masculinities, Advancing Gender Equality” for an in-person discussion with national and international experts on October 16th, from 2 – 6.30 p.m. at the Embassy of Iceland in Berlin. This conference is open to all genders. The working language is English. The registration deadline is October 4th.
Due to limited seating capacities, early registration is advised. To support your participation, we offer childcare services for children aged three and older. Please indicate your need for this service and provide your child(ren)’s age(s) when you register (registration deadline for childcare: October 1st).
